We're Vessel Kitchen Gardens
A women-owned micro business in Portland, Oregon on a mission to help you rewild your urban life
We believe in building connection to community, nature, and a relationship with the food we eat.
At Vessel Kitchen Gardens we're not just passionate about gardening; we're committed to creating harmonious spaces that benefit both people and the planet, utilizing placemaking principles, permaculture, biodynamics, and veganic gardening systems.
Our sustainable, eco-friendly edible and native landscapes are designed and maintained with your unique needs in mind. We integrate native plants with annual and perennial edible plants to enhance biodiversity, improve soil health, and create a resilient and low-maintenance urban haven. You don't need to run off and buy a plot of rural land and live off the grid to grow food and live sustainably - you can create this right here in the city, even if all you have is a little apartment terrace.

We believe that each daily action can make an impact. Growing food and native habitat can quite literally change the world.
The Vessel Way
Community
A sustainable world cannot exist without community. Earth care IS people care and it's impossible to move mountains alone.
We prioritize using local amendments, local plants grown here which are acclimated to our climate and soils, and collaborating with local businesses to share knowledge and skills to wider audiences. We find value coming together to restore ecosystems, sharing abundance, and our stories. We honor the land we are on and acknowledge those here before us and the ancestral ways nature was and is tended to through indigenous wisdom.
Sustainability
We prioritize using less plastic, buying less "stuff" if it's not necessary.
We love using metal beds in our designs, because you don't have to replace them every few years like cedar beds. We love recycling old cardboard and newspaper and using them in the garden. We find joy in saving one-time use items from landfills. We are smitten with pollinators and wildlife, and strive to create abundance for them alongside abundance for people.
Education
Every decision I make in my life and business, I try to look at the impact it has. Gardening in this way creates a much more profound connection to nature and community that I hope to pass to others through my interactions with them.
I pride myself on continuing education, learning more ways to integrate earth-friendly practices into landscapes, and exploring new ways of disseminating that knowledge into content average urban home-dwellers can employ, whether that comes in the form of coaching, workshops, or private garden parties.
